a flame-embroidered cloak of brocade and wool

May 27, 2009

This pitch cloak is sewn from high-quality black wool overlaid with sumptuous squares of silk brocade and velvet burnt with the subtle, nigh-intangible images of dancing flames. Black silk tassels dangle from hood and hem of cloak, as well as in lengths up the side, bearing small bells of blackened steel that sing out a disturbing tune in minor notes as the cloak shifts and moves. A deep hood of soft, supple wool lined with black velvet sits atop the cloak, casting the face into a deep, enigmatic shadow. The clasp at the front is an interlocking pin of blackened steel – closed, it forms the sign of Ashtorath.

an ivory cloak of sanguine amaranths

December 27, 2008

Immaculate folds of ivory brocade fall from a collar of hammered platinum to the ankle, clothing the form beneath in a cloak of pure white silk. Panels of intricate sanguine embroidery adorn the front, depicting intertwining vines of amaranths that disgorge stylised blossoms across the front of the garment. Delicate clasps of silver inlaid with gleaming crimson blossoms secure the cloak from waist to the starched and pressed collar – the hood rises over the face like a shroud, dipping low over the eyes and rendering the face an enigmatic mask beneath the bone-white fabric.

a heavy, ashen cloak with cabalistic motifs

August 7, 2008

Opulent and warm, this cloak has been sewn from a selection of high quality fabrics – velvet and brocade. The velvet, ashen and cadaverous in hue forms the heavy body of the cloak whilst the lustreless brocade constitutes the lining. The outer side is devoid of much ornamentation and the only embellishment is a line of cabalistic motifs done in silvery and golden thread around the hem and up the front. A high-collar, stiff and simple, is supported by a cog-like iron clasp at the chest. The brocade used for the lining is pitch-black with a hardly lighter thread used for the designs woven into it. Although details would require a careful study, a glance suffices to reveal that the pattern of the brocade depicts various cabalistic diagrams.

an opaline black cloak with a bloodstone ouroboros clasp

August 7, 2008

Black velvet has been brushed with opal dust to create a shimmering gradient of colour that spreads out across this floor length cloak in an array of metallic purples, greens, and blues. A high collar that brushes against the wearer’s jawline is held closed with bloodstone pendant fashioned into the shape of a serpent consuming its own tail, the Ouroboros.

an austere, steel-blue suede cloak

August 7, 2008

Simple in design and form, this cloak has been sewn from supple suede dyed to a steel-blue hue. It is largely unornamented aside from small decorative embroidery done in silver thread on the high collar and a silver clasp shaped like two intermeshing cogs. The cloak sports no hood or lining, serving merely for mediocre protection against the elements.

a jet-black cloak with a spectral clasp

August 7, 2008

The exterior of this cloak has been sewn from soft and lustreless, jet-black material whilst the lining comprises supple blackened leather to provide some protection during a rainfall. Exuding a sense of sombre elegance with its materials and simplicity, it envelops the wearer in voluminous folds all the way to the ground and sports a water-proofed hood. The material lacks ornamentation bar few, mysterious runic symbols embroidered in a darkly iridescent thread at chest’s height on both sides of the opening. Above them the cloak is held together by an unusual clasp, the top of which took form of a brooch. The brooch consists of a round platinum plate with a blunt raised rim and a dome-like, thin pearl layer that imprisons the ectoplasm within. Underneath the convex the ectoplasm swirls palely with each movement.

a glimmering, midnight ink-hued cloak

August 7, 2008

The velvet used for the making of this cloak has been dyed a most sombre hue of blue, resembling a night sky lit up by stars. The material is remarkably soft and rather heavy, assuring warmth if wrapped up close and exuding a feel of royal elegance when worn casually, supported by a closing of intricate silver chains. The inside has been lined with black silk from hem to collar, the material matted to dampen the lustre. The collar has been stiffened slightly to surround the neck protectively and the silver-thread embroidery, predominant in the whole design, starts from there. The threads swirl in elegant designs to accent the front of the collar, the attaching of the closing in the front and then they sweep down along the opening, onto the bottom hem and around it. To accent the shine, brilliant diamonds and snowy white opals have been crushed and dusted around the areas of the embroidery and, to a lesser extent, over the whole material attempting to recreate the glimmer of a starry night.

a clandestine hooded cloak of ebony velvet

August 7, 2008

This sombre cloak has been sewn with comfort and concealment in mind. Ebony velvet, unusually lustreless, drapes the wearer from head to feet supporting full stealth when closed properly. A hood, large enough to cloak the face and render its features unreadable, has been attached in the back. Black matte linen lines the interior which ensures that, when desired, no light shall reflect off the garment and catch attention. A dull, blackened piece of bone carved into a spider clasp serves for a fastening and there are several closings sweeping down the inside of the front to use as the situation demands.

a cascading cloak of misty, purple velvet

July 14, 2008

Swathing the figure in cascading, voluminous folds, this dainty cloak pools around around the wearer’s feet. It has been sewn from soft, thin velvet dyed to the hazy colour of misty purple – fairly pale and reflecting with a delicate bluish sheen smudged with ivory. The hood is just the right size to protect from the elements and lined, alongside with the rest of the garment, with pristine white cotton for warmth. A graceful pearlescent clasp shaped into a blossoming amaranth flower keeps the cloak secured.
