a dusky toga overlaid with plum gauze

August 9, 2008

A dusky black layer of charmeuse silk forms the underpinnings of this elegant toga, flowing over the female form in shining, nigh-translucent curves accentuated by elaborate embroidery depicting vines of clockwork amaranth. The layer of silk is fastened at both shoulders with silver gears. A thin layer of cloud-like gauze dyed a rich shade of plum shimmers atop the black charmeuse, miniscule black diamonds set like stars against the ghostly fabric.

a demure midnight velvet toga

August 9, 2008

This demure toga has been sewn from warm dark velvet that wraps around the figure tightly in a way that clearly conveys it has been cut to fit a female figure. It has been pleated throughout and drapes down from the right arm, where the material is held together by a small golden clasp in form of an orchid. The pleating itself forms the figure of the toga but it is additionally accented at the waist by a thin braided golden belt with an orchid clasp at the left side. The luxurious velvet folds reach all the way to the ground and a small train, formed loosely out of the folds, trails the ground at the back.
