Black onyx forms the composition of this collar, carved into two perfect semicircles joined together cunningly by a small platinum hinge. Upon the surface of the onyx, delicate veins of opal seem to grow through the dark stone, glimmering darkly and spreading into an intricate network of tenebrous webs. Amid the opalescent strands, small slivers of pearl have been inlaid, giving the illusion of amaranth petals caught upon the webbing. The back of the collar comes together with a shining platinum clasp in the shape of an open tome, upon which an intricate pinion has been engraved.
