a ravenwood couch upholstered with scalps

September 24, 2008

Giving off a sickly stench of preservative, an elegant ravenwood couch sits here, upholstered with a patchwork of scalps.

Neatly sewn together onca frame of polished ravenwood, a multitude of scalps upholster this couch. Each seems to have been chosen for the copious hair upon it, and manes of varying consistency and hue make a patchwork of browns, blacks, greys and reds. The hair on each scalp has been lovingly combed, trimmed to an equal length, and treated with a sickly and malodorous preservative which stifles the air around it. The wooden frame is of an elegant and pleasing shape, curving backwoods along the top, and intricately carved with fluting lines and scrollwork. The legs are four carved demon’s feet, with iron talons which grip the floor and prevent the couch slipping or sliding across the ground.

a swathed couch of lugubrious shrouds

August 30, 2008

An austerely sombre couch sheathed in muslin sits here in gloomy severity.

Crafted in a decidedly spartan fashion, the frame of this couch is strictly plain and unsoftened by any curves, but rather possessing of nearly perpendicular slats of dark timber. Severe armrests reside at either side of the couch, and grim legs coil beneath the body of the seat in staunch support. Pinned and swathed across the body of this article of furniture are many layers of thin and gauzy fabric, dyed as black as shadow and ethereal to the touch. Though the fabric is undeniably soft, it provides no cushioning whatsoever, but rather puts forth an illusion of tranquility and comfort. The sweeps of cloth are pocked and riveted by small emblems of pearly blackthorn blooms, like floating petals in the night sky of the stygian cloth.

a marbled divan-couch of pearly vermilion

August 30, 2008

Marbled flourishes of gleaming pearl and rich carnelian ripple across the fabric of this divan-couch, arching opulently to one side.

Tender rosewood has been sculpted into the frame of this sumptuously low divan couch, curving to end in four delicate feet adorned with burgeoning floral motifs and stately claws. A thin cushion rests upon this ligneous base, pinned and tapered at the edges to convey a sense of clean luxury and style. Painted upon this curving cushion are marbled patterns, ceaselessly flowing, separating and merging in wild bands and swirling currents, rendered in gleaming pearl tones and vibrantly sanguine red. The mass of this piece rises up on one side, forming a graceful armrest of coiling facades and lacquered wood proliferations.

a lavish walnut couch

August 14, 2008

Its plump cushions remarkably inviting, a lavish palatine purple couch graces the centre of room.

This lavishly decorated piece of furniture has been upholstered with soft velveteen dyed to a palatine purple hue and vertically ribbed with the occasional golden stripe. Polished black walnut serves for the frame with cabriole legs ending in demon claw feet. The seat has a serpentine design with an arched crest in the middle depicting a skull inlaid with black mother-of-pearl. Several plump cushions of varied purple shades and materials sprawl upon the couch invitingly.
